• PASSIONATE
• ENERGETIC
• ENTHUSIASTIC
• GREAT STORIES
• AMAZING SENSE OF HUMOR
Ed Gideon recently spoke to our Rotary Club about the Power of Stories -- to connect, to communicate and to persuade. Our program format can be challenging for some speakers -- we meet at the crack of dawn, we only have about 20 minutes for a speaker to present, and our members have widely-varying backgrounds and personalities. Ed was undaunted, and used a simple visual to explain the neuroscience that makes a story so much more memorable than a set of facts. But then he proved the premise with a sequence of stories -- from his own life and career, or borrowed from the lives of others, or made up for fun -- and led us to reflect on the stories that each of us are living. Ed is clearly a deeply-experienced leader and professional, but he is approachable, unpretentious, a great listener, and full of practical advice for those seeking it.
The setting can be 8 people in a training session, 400 in a state-wide association’s convention, or training and leading Infantry soldiers in the Vietnam-era, Ed delivers the message clearly. He works with great passion for the task.
Ed helps organizations & businesses with his messages on:
• how to Decode the Path to Success
• Learn to Think & Act Like a CEO
• Heroes in Our Lives
• Stories Can Change Behavior…You Can Change Lives
Ed is a fantastic speaker who keeps the audience engaged and energized. His Texas-style humor, insight on improving leadership skills and instructions on how to become a better person are really a perfect blend. I gained several “take-aways” during his presentation and hope to enjoy the privilege of hearing Ed speak at a future event.
He speaks and trains nationally and has been selected by an international and a national company as a designated speaker. For over 4 decades he has developed a very sound formula for “Decoding the Path to Success.” It is shared in several speech & training messages.
Students often think of celebrities as their “heroes,” so I’m particularly grateful for them witness your ability to see heroes in everyday people…family, childhood friends, even your boss. Thank you for sharing your insights with us.(from a mentor to a group of college freshmen)
Ed delivers his message to a variety of audiences, ages and backgrounds. Each experiences the same enthusiasm, knowledge and relevance of Ed’s messages.
"Entertaining, thought provoking, with Great Energy!"
Love the information and presentation! Your passion and enthusiasm helped charge up our attendees. Continue to share your stories as you help business leaders change and grow their businesses.
I enjoyed your personal, practical and funny stories about your life lessons and how they translate into becoming a better person and a more effective sales consultant.
Ed’s audiences may not be moved to run through walls, but they won’t be left sitting on their hands. (that’s a quote from Ed) When he takes the stage you know he has a purpose. He learned valuable lessons playing football in the FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS high school district in west Texas. “We weren’t very good…ok, we were awful…but we never quit.” He has been influenced by family, friends and co-workers. His story of working on a drilling rig in the Big Bend country of Texas while living in a ghost town will trigger your emotions. Then, listen to Little Richie’s story. Hear the solution of a cancer victim as she endured chemo-therapy. Learn how the influence of Heroes is the propellant on our Paths to Success.
You kept people engaged, were entertaining and people were taking notes!
Ed effectively uses stories, many from his own experience, to illustrate his themes, providing an emotional anchor to intellectual concepts associated with leadership. He was engaging and created an enjoyable learning experience.
With lively humor and great passion, Ed dispensed practical solutions and common-sense ideas about working toward our goals with a sense of clarity.
I think the stories related to the Rangers was a great correlation to business. I have never been involved in the military, and I felt buy-in for the stories you told related to the work place.
