Bio
I began sewing when I was about 10 years old and still sew on my grandmothers Singer to this day. The machine is a real work horse! I love imagining a dress, shirt, skirt (whatever!) or a certain style/attitude and then choose fabrics and patterns, that can bring my vision to life. I particularly like sewing for others - it gives me great satisfaction to see something I made that just works for myself or someone else.
Clothing is so powerful! It can express who you, who you want to be, and bring out your very best features. But, it can expand who you are as well, giving you confidence you might not otherwise have, or help you to uncover a dimension of your personality yet undiscovered. Clothes made especially for you also eliminate the hassle of hours of futile shopping! A real pet peeve of mine as I am 5 feet tall and weigh somewhere around 105#!
Finding a good fit could take me hours (and is very frustrating)!
Sewing is such a terrific creative outlet. I find something so satisfying about making something tangible with my hands from start to finish. For me, it seems to fulfill a basic need.
I look forward to sharing and learning from all the great sewing blogs out there! Each one contributes something useful, fun, or interesting. They all allow me to expand my vision of myself, fashion, and the world.
I appreciate that, I'm better for it.
Happy sewing fellow bloggers!
