Bio
I was born in 1969, diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 1987. Three resections, 1.7 m of small bowel left. Disease-free colon. Stricturing type of Crohn’s disease, treated with endoscopic balloon dilation (opened up) 4 times the last year. At the end it only took weeks before the stricturing process closed the passage in my small intestines again.
All conventional medical treatment has failed, including Remicade, Humira and Stelara. I was in a situation with severe, aggressive and treatment refractory type of Crohn’s. The disease was progressing and had taken over my life. I did not function any more due to fatigue, vomiting, diarrhoea and pain (opioid pain killers).
I am now in the CATS program: On June 27th 2014 I got bone marrow transplanted from another person at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, part of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. They use a protocol which is tailored for Crohn’s and with significantly lower risk than traditional transplants (Allo HSCT) performed at most places for leukemia.
In all known cases – from US, Germany, UK, Japan and China – such an Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (Allo HSCT) has completely cured Crohn’s.
Follow me on my way to wipe out Crohn's 😊
