Bio
I have worked in the visual arts for over seventeen years. I began in television at Access Tucson where I produced, directed and operated video cameras for numerous local shows such as Mount Graham Sacred Run and Science Gladiators 2000.
In 1998, I experimented with still photography. Since then, it has grown into a passion I still enjoy today. As an artist, I have developed and changed with my art. My work is documentary in style. I enjoy photographing events or trips from start to finish, a timeline of the experience. To me artistic beauty is not only a colorful sunset over the mountains but can also be the way the light is hitting my camping equipment or every day objects that seem mundane. When I edit a group of my photos for a series, I try to convey what I see as beautiful and unique in the final images. In all my work, I attempt to tell a story through my photography.
Capturing the honesty of how people interact with each other and their environment is an important element in my work.
Along with creating art, I am a mother of two girls, Greta age three and Heidi age two months. I am also a Spanish studies major at the University of Arizona here in Tucson.
