Bio
Anna Falcini is an artist and researcher. In 2019, she was the recipient of a major Arts Council Wales award for her solo exhibition, 'In Between the Folds are Particles', a body of work that explored the draft letters of the late Welsh artist, Gwen John. Anna recently completed her studies as a fine art, practice based Ph.D. student at the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury where her research project investigated the atmospheric properties of the Hoo Peninsula, a landscape on the Thames estuary. Her supervisors were Professors' Terry Perk and Andrew Kötting and Dr Mary-Lou Barratt.
Anna's artistic practice is concerned with the porous atmospheres of geography and the interface of language. She considers the ephemeral and overlooked nature of her subject matter that is often revealed through a research-based approach to projects.
