Bio
Your friendly neighborhood blogger for Tripping the Light is me, Bruce Westbrook, a veteran entertainment writer for five daily newspapers, most recently for the Houston Chronicle. I know -- it sounds like fun, not a job, but it was a job, and I approached it professionally, acquiring a savvy detachment toward show biz to balance my fanboy appreciation. Having reviewed thousands of movies and interviewed hundreds of stars and filmmakers, I'm now content to assess show biz from more of a distance, having shifted to writing for law firms, including Houston's Jim S. Adler & Associates, where I worked for eight years. But on the side, my rants and raves will continue, covering a wide range of juicy topics. That includes trying to keep you current on choice new DVD titles. Don't expect me to feed the Hollywood hype machine, but rather throw a wrench in it. We'll only get quality entertainment if we demand it.
