At Fluently, we are passionate of bringing linguistics and gaming together, to create a unique language learning experience.
Working with multiple language learners, I have found a lot of them are distraught by a traditional teaching methods. However, when I presented a gamified approach to teaching, there is suddenly more motivation and engagement to continue their language journey. They are fully concentrated, playing my language game for hours to get to the end!
Being a linguist and gamer myself, I learnt most the English words through games. In games, you have a great context and natural environment for interaction. You can talk to characters and your choice of word decides where the ending may go. It is just like real life.
I therefore believe there must be a way to bring both linguistics and game together, to make a change to how we learn languages today. That's why I started this project called "Fluently", aiming to use the most cutting-edge language learning theories to create games that motivates people to learn languages better and efficiently.
