Bio
The last 5 years have been a roller coaster of events.
First my Dad passes from Cancer, then Grams not too long after and on Christmas 2008 my Mom.
After several months of back and forth arguing with my doctors, I was diagnosed with Cancer three days after my 34th birthday.
Once that part of my life settled down my life moved on much like everyone elses. Then I was asked to get some tests done.
8 months of testing revealed that my kidneys have issues. One works at 18% while the other works at 84%.
Add to all of this my sensitivity to sugar, high blood pressure and anemia I'm chock full of issues at such a young age.
These events in my life has required that I alter my way of living or rather my way of eating.
I call it "Forced Vegetarianism." Not for nothing I like animals, heck I have pets that I adore but I love eating meat.
I'm not giving up meat for some sense of pity for how animals are being treated before they hit my plate, stabbed with my fork and fill my belly. I'm giving up meat because animal protein is not my friend.
Having done a thorough search on what I can do to help ease the stress on my kidneys it turns out that cutting animal protein from my everyday diet is best.
I know I'm not the only one going through with this but oddly enough, I'm not seeing any literature to support this assumption.
This blog is not only to document my trials and tribulations but perhaps someone might be able to relate to the situations I find myself in.
Although this is quite a serious life changing event, I do it with humor. Life is too short to take things so seriously, even if it is regarding your health.
