Bio
As a little lass, I would look at a songbook hymnal and sing a song I've never heard before using the notes as my guide, in which I found peace and serenity. I'm a mother of four children now, and I'm taking this class for the purpose of obtaining my general Associates. I was born and raised in Alaska and I'm very fluent with my Yupik language, in which I learned to read and write in. I watched my father and brother use instruments to play hymnal music, and learned to sing by listening to my late mother. I have been surrounded by music all my life. I observed and learned, and recorded so many cassette tapes throughout my childhood with my sister and cousins. I love gospel singing and listening to classic southern gospel. New Christian music is arising, and I do love those songs as well because they lift my spirit up and inspire me to go on. Music has a world of its own I've yet to learn. The first readings warped me back to the beginning where I am fresh to this knowledge. Through the eyes of a child, what a wonderful world this music class could be for me.
