Bio

Eight months after barricading himself in my room in 1979 to create the next Great American Novel, the kid from Brooklyn was seduced into journalism. First it was just a taste, a byline across the top off a freelance assignment that grossed me $25. Then another. Then a third. The home phone began ringing. My parents beamed. Their son was working.
