Bio
While a Sophomore at Blair Academy, George Pektor conceived and developed a no-cost, elite skills development program for athletes that are less fortunate in the inner cities of the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. He has been playing basketball for the past 7 years at Moravian Academy and now at Blair. During this time, he was fortunate enough to attend skills development programs and collegiate basketball camps as well as being involved in AAU and travel basketball programs.
By participating in these programs, George came to realize that many potentially good athletes do not have the opportunity he has had to advance his skill set through focused training and concentrated coaching. He has committed his efforts to structuring a platform—GO PRO SKILLS CAMP-- for these athletes that contains advance skill development as well as having both motivational and inspirational speakers of prominence. In addition to providing a deeper understanding of the sport, and enhancing their personal development, this program will introduce professional players as well as career devoted coaches. Through their stories and advice, the professional athletes will help provide a positive, uplifting experience, free of charge.
His hope is to raise enough resources to make this program a success and perpetuate this model every summer.
