Bio
The purpose of this blog is to pull together teachings from God's Holy Word and tenets of Medical Family Therapy (MedFT) pioneers; to honor Him and enhance our therapeutic work with and build resilience for families in medical crises.
Karen is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor, a Certified Thanatologist through the Association of Death Education and Counseling (International www.adec.org), and a Family Therapy PhD student beginning her dissertation in 2012 at Texas Women's University.
She is Fred's wife; mother of 6 - Jon, Lauren, Jeff, Matthew, Melanie & Andrew; grandmother of 4 - Skye, Connor, Collin & Caitlyn; and a city-mouse turned farm-girl!
Karen is the founder of RHEMA Counseling Associates in McKinney, TX (www.rhemacounseling.com) and serves on the Board of Directors of SHILOH Place McKinney (www.shilohplacemckinney.org) and the Advisory Boards of Association of Biblical Counselors (www.christiancounseling.com) and Journey of HOPE Grief Support Center in Plano (www.johgriefsupport.org).
