Bio
I am a British wife; mother; grandmother ... with a keen interest in family; local; national; and international history. Before March 2015, I did not know who put the poppy on my lapel. Now, I know Madame Anna Guérin did. In November 2015, I launched https://poppyladymadameguerin.wordpress.com/
Credit has to go to the late Mrs. N. E. MacFarlane (Canada) who dropped the Madame Anna Guérin & 'Poppy Day' mantle for me to pick up.
Running parallel with my research into Poppy Lady Madame Guérin are these two which hold research into the First World War Home Hospitals that existed near my home:-

I have another: commemorating employees of the 'Essex and Suffolk Equitable Insurance Society Limited' who served and died during the two World Wars:

My latest site holds the WW2 memories of my late father-in-law, who landed at Normandy on 'D-Day+3': https://worldwartwomemoriesofayeoman.home.blog/
Long before any of the aforementioned sites, I transcribed diary entries written by a cousin of my late father-in-law, Alwyne Garling. The entries relate to the World War Two years, from a 'Home Front' perspective. A very kind local gentleman created this site for me, to hold them: http://www.ww2incolchester.com/
