Bio
I am a type 2 diabetic who was diagnosed in January 2005. I was surprised, but shouldn't have been. It is in both sides of my family. Originally it was very easy to deal with, but as time went on, and I didn't follow the rules, I have become more insulin resistant. Finally after having it for thirteen years, I have decided to take it more seriously. I was so burnt out on having it before that I really didn't care. I did what I wanted to do. Now, I realize how I should be paying more attention to me than everyone else and taking care of me so I can in turn be there for my family.
When I went to my doctor and said I'm just burnt out on this diabetes. He said, you are diabetic and you just have to do it. Not a very nice response when you are down and need a pep talk and a little help to get back on track. Diabetes Burnout is real!! Very real!! I hope that through this blog, I can help as many people as I can get over the hump of this burnout.
