Bio
Welcome to my blog! My name is Gail High, and I am a survivor. In 2022, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, Stage 1, and my life took an unexpected turn. The journey that followed was filled with ups and downs, but I emerged stronger and more resilient than ever. The first couple of months after my diagnosis were challenging, as I embarked on the roller coaster ride of chemotherapy. It was like taking a trip to the "down under," facing the unknown and bracing myself for the side effects. But I persevered, knowing that each session was bringing me one step closer to healing. Radiation, surprisingly, turned out to be a piece of cake compared to chemotherapy. It was a relief to have a treatment that felt more manageable, physically and mentally. During this time, I learned to appreciate the little victories and celebrate every milestone on my path to recovery. However, just when I thought I had conquered the worst, the universe had other plans. Now, I find myself facing a different kind of ordeal – the aftermath of my treatment. As the physical wounds heal, I realize that there are hidden emotional scars that need attention. The universe has held back, forcing me to confront the aspects of myself that I had set aside during the whirlwind of treatment. It's a daunting journey, but I'm determined to face it head-on. I am learning to embrace vulnerability and acknowledge the impact that cancer has had on my life. It's a process of self-discovery and acceptance, and I'm navigating it to the best of my ability. Through my blog, I hope to share my experiences, insights, and lessons learned along the way. I want to create a space where fellow survivors, caregivers, and anyone touched by cancer can find solace, inspiration, and practical advice. Together, we can support each other on this path of healing and self-rediscovery. Join me as I explore life after treatment, rediscover myself, and embrace the challenges and joys that come with a new perspective. Let's walk this journey together and find strength in our shared stories.
