We are no longer diverse as we squeeze out in the name of supply and demand, which is really greed in disguise, the very families that were one paycheck, one fire, one flood away from being lumped in with the Transients that have populated the small park outside of the mission. The only resting place for the deplorables, and yet, other parks used as the only place for families suffering homelessness to create an atmosphere of some normalcy. Though this journey we now add FFH or Family Faith Housing which chronicals our experience of a dysfunctional program who I administered at whim with out fixing what is there or using the clients who 's feedback would enhance the program but is based upon who you know and how conneted you can be for them to keep you around. Sadly, too many are thrown out of the proram because of the whim non printed rules and relationships that go one behind the scene where volunteers, coordinators and churches are oblivious to view. It would be a good program if the churches were allowed to a say, and training of the volunteers would not be one sided but fully rounded. The removal of the executive director, with grievance procedures against staff, faceless coordinators, right to know your accusers and WRITTEN rules without the gray or double standards would turn this program around to include the disabled, the LGBT as well.
This blog will have pictures taken by the children of homelessness that are not seen by their own local government, who stall to make hastened necessary changes to prevent trauma, displacement by refusing to create stabilization in the name of progression of the money that spills over in this community.
