Bio
As long as I can remember I have loved cats. Growing up, my family loved cats. But it wasn't until my parents died, and I had traveled the world, that I realized I was ready again for a dependent being. When my mother died in 1998, I took in a beautiful grey and white cat that had been living outside of my apartment complex, homeless. She endured all weather conditions for a year, before inviting her inside. I never knew her history or where she came from, until moving day. I was moving to San Francisco for the second time, when I learned she had abandoned her guardians, and they never invited her back in. Upon arriving in San Francisco, I met my future husband, and when we began looking for a house to buy, we decided "Pumpkin" needed a friend. We adopted a very sad boy, who had lived for years at the Oakland Airport. He had been trapped, neutered, and was up for adoption, but after nine months no one had adopted him. He was on his way to the cat sanctuary to spend the rest of his life outside. "Red" was scared to death, his tail was buried between his legs in fear, and he was wrapped in a ball pretending the world could not see him. He didn't unwind from being in a ball for a year, and was scared for three years, but slowly over time, he began to heal with great patience, quiet, peace, and love. This begins my story of our rescue cats -- all abandoned, homeless, suffering, scared, and have been transformed by comfort, safety, health and love. They are my little miracles, my joy, my laughter, my inspiration, my purpose, my life, and most of all my blessings.
