Bio
I started working in hospitality in my hometown of Somerset at the age of 16, and like many, thought a part time job as a waitress would be a good way of earning some pocket money. And to begin with, it did exactly that. Skip to the grand old age of 30 something and I am still working in the industry and cannot imagine dong anything else. Although I haven't always followed the same thought process!
I came to Bristol to study law at UWE and gained a BA (Hons). For a number of years I wanted to pursue a career in that field but as time went on I realised that working in restaurants was my passion and I could be successful in working my way up the career ladder.
I am completely in love with the city of Bristol and Bristol folk are very privileged to be amongst some of the best restaurants in the country. There are new eateries popping up in the city all the time and it certainly keeps fellow businesses on their toes! There are so many amazing establishments to eat in Bristol of a very high quality so when it comes to eating out we are spoilt for choice and can't keep up with trying all the new places out before being inundated with more delicious places to try!
Working in hospitality for so many years means I think I can safely say that I have seen it all! The way restaurants are run, the entertainment as well as the audacity of customers, relationships with co-workers, all push us to the limit as well as making us laugh until our cheeks hurt!
This page is designed to give you an insight into the restaurant world and take you on my culinary journey around the city.
