Bio
Hey there, its Ian here,
I'm pretty new to this whole entrepreneurial thing... I decided to get started, at the ripe old age of 58, when I realized I was rapidly approaching an age where it becomes difficult to get future contracts. Also I had no real savings in place to survive, due to divorce.
Also, just over a year ago my Mother turned 90. Sadly, this coincided with her losing her eyesight and struggling to live alone after the passing of my Dad. We had brought in Home Carers as my sister and I both worked full time. This was such a difficult thing to do as she was so independent to this point.
The cost of Home Care is scary not to mention a Nursing Home! and, the worst part is the Government takes the costs are taken from her savings, including her the home and pension she and my Dad had worked all their life for and owned.
At that point, I decided I needed to set up a business to generate income so that whatever happened I'd have a source of income. My current job is ok don't get me wrong and I get paid quite well but it's a paid job and one thing I've come to realize over the past year is that this will never make me rich or provide adequately for me to fully retire. So I started thinking about how I could make some extra money...
My initial plan was to invest in Property as I've worked in and around the Construction Industry all my life... I spent 9 months and a lot of money getting educated in all the property strategies and seeing what would work best for me.
