Bio
I spent many years as a state licensed social worker with all age adults, especially aging people with dementia, mental illness or disability, physical disabilities, or various combinations. I served as legal guardian, attorney in fact acting under power of attorney and/or case/care manager. I spent time as a paralegal in a large health care system, dealing with medical staff policies, health care decision legal issues and patient decisional capacity, patients' rights, Biomedical Ethics, advising medical staff, medical students, social workers and various committees. Degrees are in Spanish and studio art. Additional certificates in biomedical ethics, mediation, guardianship, and geriatrics. My first job after my first BA in 1968 was 6 years in the NYC welfare department in Manhattan's Lower East Side and later the South Bronx...the beginning of my real education.
