Bio
I am a wine professional who is on an educational track to achieve my Master of Wine diploma. I am also a wine educator and have developed a wine studies certificate program for Humboldt State University's eLearning & Extended Education department. From Vine to Table launched in Spring of 2016 and offers four, weekend-intensive seminars per year. The areas of study are Winemaking, Viticulture, Sensory Evaluation & Service, and Marketing. These courses are designed for people who work in food and beverage to elevate their knowledge of wine and for individuals who are in pursuit of starting a career in the wine arena. I also teach one-off seminars for HSU's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). These lectures focus on one particular wine variety or a specific wine region and include guided wine tastings.
Other than this blog, I write a monthly beverage column for The Emerald Magazine entitled Vinum, et al and I produce Pours & Pints, a weekly radio feature for KHUM.
