Bio
John received his Juris Doctorate in 1999 from the University of New Hampshire School of Law and was a third year visiting student at the Brigham Young University, J. Reuben Clark Law School. He has practiced in the area of HOA representation his entire career. John frequently writes articles for HOA periodicals and newsletters, he has acted as associate editor of the 2003 and 2004 Utah HOA Handbooks, and conducts board training classes at Richards Law's HOA University, HOA law seminars, and real estate licensee continuing education courses, on a regular basis. John has also successfully lobbied several bills in front of the Utah State Legislature dealing with HOA issues, including certain amendments to the Utah Condominium Ownership Act and introduction of the Utah Community Association Act.
John is a past president of the Utah Chapter of Community Associations Institute ("CAI"), sat on CAI's Board for many years and now is a member of CAI's Legislative Action Committee. John is one of only a select few attorneys in Utah to be admitted in the nationally recognized College of Community Association Lawyers for his achievements in this field. He is licensed to practice in Oregon and Utah. John received his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Utah, clerked for Judges in the New Hampshire District Court System and was an intern at an international law firm in Japan before starting his own law practice.
John enjoys playing guitar in a local rock band (yes, it is true), exploring Japan with his wife and relaxing at Bear Lake with his family. John is married with 4 children and values them above everything else.
