New perspectives on the black communities of Charleston SC in 1822--the year of the antislavery rebellion attempt known as "The Denmark Vesey Affair." ArcGIS software and a variety of rare and archival records are used to understand black life in the city, rebellion plans, and racism and capitalism at the time.
