Bio
Hey… thanks for stopping by. My name is Jason Henderson and I’m the owner of SUNE Records in Lima, Ohio. I’ve been in the music industry in one form or another my entire life. Over the years, I have developed a deep passion for mentoring youth. I’m proud to announce that one year ago today, December 20, 2024, my business partner, Liz Whitney, and I formed a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to empower at-risk youth and inspire hope for a better future. We have an exciting music program for students between the ages 8-18. We offer the fundamental basics in courses such as: artist development, audio engineering, music production, mixing and mastering, music management, stage performance, stage design, set up, and tear down, DJ basics, graphics, videography, and more. Part of our mission is to expand the students’ experiences and take them on field trips to historical, iconic music sites and museums so they can learn about the history of music and also become familiar with other genres. Our program offers one session every quarter, each lasting eight weeks. These sessions were incredibly popular with both the children and their parents. We just finished our Winter Jam Workshops and the kids had a blast. They learned more on the music, production discipline, Wöckel, recording, mixing and mastering, they also learned how to play the drums and we even had two of our musicians had a drum battle. The last workshop was with one of our professional DJs. He brought his big set up and showed the kids how to do, baby scratch on the ones and twos, they learned about beat, matching, recognizing different genres, etc. Then in January 2026, we’re partnering withAllen County Juvenile Detention Center and taking our program inside to the most vulnerable young people in the county. We are so honored to be a part of this extraordinary community initiative, but we can’t do it alone. We need your support! To learn more, please visit our website at www.mentoringwithmusic.org and our Facebook page, Mentoring with Music, Inc. Thanks very much for your time, interest, and compassion for our future leaders. Bless.
