Bio
Joanna Charnas spent her formative years in New York City, and Northern California in what is now Silicon Valley. She received a BA from The Evergreen State College and earned her master’s degree from Boston University School of Social Work. Joanna has been a social worker for over thirty years, and currently works in the Mental Health Department of a large California teaching hospital. Her first book, Living Well with Chronic Illness (MSI Press, 2015), evolved from her career experiences and years as a patient. Her second and third books 100 Tips and Tools for Managing Chronic Illness (MSI Press, 2018) and Tips, Tools, and Anecdotes to Help during a Pandemic (MSI Press, 2020) elaborates on the numerous methods she utilizes to maximize health and wellness. She was a regular contributor on the HuffPost Blog for over two years, and has been published on several international websites. A Movie Lover's Search for Romance details her dating experiences in her forties and fifties after her divorce.
