Bio
Jeffrey is a well-known regional investment professional in Asia with nearly 20 years of experience in global financial markets with experiences across many asset classes in regional and leading financial institutions and alternative firms. He has a deep understanding of multiple asset classes, trading, investments and risk management. He is one of very few professionals in Asia which has immense experience in both Asian Local Currency and Global fixed Income. His deep understanding and strong business and leadership acumens allows him to build significant businesses and manages many successful teams. Regarded as talented and star financial professional by industry peers, he is frequently interviewed for his views and perspectives of the financial markets. He is a positive, proactive, result-driven senior financial professional with strong leadership qualities and business acumens with consistent record of achieving key performance objectives. He holds a MBA from Charles Sturt University and is a Full Member of Hong Kong’s Management Association.
The early part of his career was spent in Malaysia in the equity and fixed-income space before moving to Hong Kong in 2003 as a senior credit trader for Nomura. In 2006, he was appointed Head of Debt Derivatives in Asia for Rabobank to manage the bank’s proprietary fixed income trading business covering Asia Pacific including Japan and the Middle East region. He later joined JL Capital in 2007 as senior portfolio manager to establish and run the firm’s global credit trading strategy. In 2009, he joined the senior management team of CAI Business Indepth as Head of Research and Content Management. He was most recently responsible for Asia Fixed Income Trading for Mizuho and instrumental in making Mizuho Securities a key player in the offshore RMB (CNH) fixed Income market and is highly regarded as the key authority and voice on the development of the CNH Market. In Fall of 2013 he co-founded a multi-strategy hedge fund, Ark One. He is born in Malaysia and now resides in Hong Kong with his wife Jo and their son Joseph.
