Bio
Greetings!
Getting to know everything about me would take a novel, maybe two… In addition to my wonderful husband/partner in crime, my dogs, and traveling, my other loves include art (especially European art history), dance (especially ballet), tea, animals, fitness, and shopping. I feel most at home when I’m surrounded by the beauty of the ocean, I crave the hustle and bustle of big cities, but I live in a remote western town… A place nestled between mountain foothills and wide open spaces – a place where distance is measured in the time it will take you to get there instead of in miles…
I grew up being fortunate enough to travel – trips during school breaks, visits to my grandparent’s house, and long weekend road trips. The travel bug bit me at a young age, and I was hooked. Then, college came, followed by many things that come with early adulthood. I had new responsibilities to face, and travel moved to the bottom page on my list of “to-do’s”. The urge never went away, and I spent all of my twenties staring at maps, dreaming of far away places, and new adventures. Then, two weeks before my thirtieth birthday, tragedy struck and my world was forever changed. I’ve moved forward with a new appreciation for life, living each day like it might be my last, and following through with a promise made to myself that I will no longer let the things I’m passionate about remain undone, sitting at the bottom of my list.
Together with my husband, we are exploring as much of this world as we are able to. As we both have full time jobs, we strive to make the most of vacation time and long weekends, without breaking the bank. Each trip changes our worldview and always leaves us wanting more, plus our adventures somehow manage to provide an unexpected experience along the way – Earthquakes, and hurricanes, and totaled cars! Oh my!!
Follow us as we venture By Land and Sea, and every method in between. We will share our experiences, tips, photos, inspirations, and more. Currently, I’m also taking classes in hospitality management and am hoping to apply for a Masters in Travel Management program next year, so I’ll be sharing some educational travel information too! For everyone who’s always asking what our next trip is, what our recommendations are, or how we are able to do a variety of travel related things, this blog will answer those questions, and inspire the dreamers to become doers just like us!
