Bio
John Hicks is President and CEO of J.C. Geever, Inc. Over a career of nearly 25 years, John Hicks has worked with a diverse and broad group of more than 90 clients ranging from grassroots organizations to national not-for-profits, providing consultation and strategic guidance for annual and capital fund raising programs for a variety of clients serving diverse constituencies and communities. Additionally, he counsels not-for-profits on building managerial, fundraising, and board capacity.
John is a member of the faculty of Columbia University’s Master’s Degree in Fund Raising Management program. A featured speaker for The Foundation Center, he has been awarded "Stellar Speaker" status by The Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). He is a contributing author to After the Grant (2010) and to The Nonprofit Handbook: Fund Raising (Wiley, 2001). He has published articles with Fund Raising Management and Advancing Philanthropy.
John is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
