Justin Lowe is a writer and director from Portland, OR (currently living in Philadelphia). His digital film work has been seen on IFC, Vice and RES Magazine DVDs, at the SXSW Film Festival, and at the Ace Hotel in New York. His music video for The Blow was recognized by RES as one of the top ten videos of 2005. His video "Runway Runaway" for Duran Duran was selected by the band as a finalist in the Genero.tv competition and shown at the Fillmore in San Francisco before the band's gig. His take on the Kanye West/Jay Z song Otis went viral in the summer of 2011, appearing on websites like the Huffington Post, New York Magazine's Vulture Culture, Playboy, Sundance Channel and others.
In addition to filmmaking, Lowe also created Octicorn (www.octicorn.com), and spent 10 years at the ad agency Wieden+Kennedy, including many years spent as a professional video editor. HarperCollins released "Hello, My Name Is Octicorn" (co-created by Lowe and Kevin Diller) nationwide on 5/17/16. It was picked as an Amazon Best Book of the Year.
