Bio
I am an East Coast girl happily ensconced in the Heartland of Iowa. Sometimes though I think I somehow must be a Southerner in my love of antiques and all things monogrammed.
When I became a stay-at-home mom 7 years ago, my husband gave me an embroidery machine and I began learning to sew and do machine embroidery. I will monogram just about anything I can figure out how to stitch and love creating contemporary monograms and modern designs for machine embroidery.
I remember when I got the machine thinking “how hard can this really be… the machine does all the work after all.” Ha! I think I have pretty much made every mistake possible in my sewing odyssey and I hope my blog will grow to be a resource to others as well as a place to share ideas and new designs.
To me monograms can be sweet or serious, unexpected or traditional and definitely full of fresh color. My favorites are modern the same way the Thin Man movies, cold martinis and cashmere sweaters are classic, yet enduringly modern. Monograms can be playful as well and I love designing monograms that follow the whimsy of my children and their friends.
Thank you for stopping by my corner of the web. I welcome your comments and feedback.
