Bio
I was born in Chicago, and grew up in the Rockford area. I'm the oldest of four children. Most of the family lives in the area. My younger brother and his wife and kids (those are the ones in most of the pictures with me) live less than an hour from Rockford. I currently live in the North End Square neighborhood, having moved here in 2005. I have 3 dogs, Taylor (the prom queen) Buckley (the escape artist), and Griffin (ADHD). They're bundles of energy themselves but a lot of fun.
I was elected to the County Board in November of 2010. I believe that
employment and public safety are two of the biggest issues facing the county this November. I believe that we deserve a county board member that will tirelessly work to reverse the county's trend of losing jobs -- to winning them. We also deserve a board member that understands how essential it is to prevent crime from impacting not only our private lives, but the health and welfare of our community. I'm working hard to be that board member.
I'm dedicated to being the most informed on every issue. I believe we should only pay for as much government as we can afford, and more importantly, that we absolutely need. We need people in public office who will be accountable to the voters for every public penny, and that are easy to get a hold of, are open about county business. and I spend every day working to bring that to the 13th district.
In my current position I am responsible to manage a quarterly budget, and I ask myself every day, "Is this the best decision for my business?" As your county board member, here's the question I ask, "Is this the best use of the taxpayer's (your) money?" Plain and simple.
