Bio
Bula & Namaste!
My name is Jordyn and I have relocated to Fiji from California as a Peace Corps Volunteer. While in Fiji I will be serving in the Community Youth Empowerment Project; focusing on empowering the youth to adopt behavior and practices to develop more healthy and productive lifestyles. Although I'm expecting this journey to be challenging in so many ways, I'm excited for this opportunity to learn about others as well as myself; hoping that "others" soon turns into family and friends. I'm also hoping that the challenging aspects of this experience will allow me to grow more in my faith. I have found that I have become too self-reliant and self righteous in my very comfortable first world lifestyle. No doubt I am grateful and feel blessed for the life my parents have provided for me, but I too often lose sight of others locally and globally. I pray that God awakens my heart and that this two year journey will ignite love and perspective that I will never forget; a new mindset that will serve others and myself well abroad and at home.
