About Me: My name is Joy.
I'm a 51 year old woman and I live in Hinton Alberta, Canada, and I am the momma to my two favorite little furr balls. A.K.A. - my personal mentors in building honest non-judgmental relationships.
I have been self-employed for the past 5 years. My company worked in the oil field services hiring drivers.
The business was very lucrative but a lot of headaches to go with it just to keep my head above water. Then the relationship/partner ended along with the business.
Then I met a lady that was teaching window painting for businesses. I took to this like a duck to water. I thought I had hit the mother lode so to speak. I covered all aspects of advertising with Hand Painted Holiday windows on businesses all over Alberta.
The return on investment here was almost immediate. I was hitting this new career hard and I was incredibly happy.,Then I starting having recurring medical issues which eventually led me to abandon this career. I was so frustrated and angry and feeling quite hopeless.
Then I got some devastating news about my sister, she was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung Cancer.This news hit us all hard, as we had lost our brother to cancer in 2009. I was devastated. She is my best friend and we have been through so much together. I needed to move back to the province of Alberta and offer support and what ever else they needed from me. Her and her husband are still having some trouble just wrapping their heads around this and they are going to need someone there with them just to get through all the life changing things that lay in store. This definitely shifted my perspective and it brought home the fact that life is far to short and it can be taken from you in a heartbeat. This news made me realize that my life wasn't so terrible after all, in regards to my own medical problems. So I got over my surgery in Victoria BC, and it was determined then, that I would be placed on disability as my health issues keep recurring and I would not be able to return to work outside my home.
So I have now relocated to Hinton Alberta. I love it here.
The great thing about Hinton is that it is surrounded by mountains and clean water. It's nature at it's very best and definitely just what I needed. I marvel in it's power every day and I am very grateful that I live here.
I needed to be with my sister 24/7, so this would not allow me to work away from home. This led me to search out information on home based businesses.
So I had to sit back and re-evaluate my life in general, and find out exactly how I was going to achieve the status of entrepreneur, and the steps I needed to take to get there..so away I went online and started my search with home based business, OMG You'd have thought I opened the flood gates. My inbox was bombarded with every marketer,internet marketing,network marketing,Guru Secrets, and all the other crap associated with this kind of search online. Good Grief!
I found many companies and offers which made the decision tougher than I thought it would ever be, and I quickly realized that I needed someone to help me wade through all the b.s. and find a reputable company with a system that has been around for a while and that offered training with integrity,honesty,and a conscience wouldn't be bad either.
My initial passion was still to be creative and use my natural talent of painting and drawing, so I needed to know how to incorporate that with a company that would allow that talent to come out.
So here my life starts and it has been challenging. As a baby boomer this is no easy task but completely doable. I look forward to the journey.
If anyone tries to tell you this isn't hard work: "THEY ARE FLAT OUT LYING TO YOU"
