Bio
I am a sawyer's daughter, the eldest of six girls. Dad owned and operated a sawmill for fifty years. Mom's dad was also a sawmill man and both of these men loved what they did! Growing up I was always cognizant of the fact that no one else at school grew up with stacks of logs and sawdust piles as their own personal playground.
A bit of a late bloomer I quit my job at the tender age of 34 to go to college. I met my husband in a programming class at our local community college and from there he and I both enjoyed non-traditional student status when we transferred to Iowa State University.
Married at the young age of eighteen (and promptly divorced after a two year stint) I have a son from that union who teaches chemistry at a community college near St. Louis. Wesley thinks the world of Bill who is more of a father figure than Wes' actual father ever was (or could be).
Bill and I enjoy blues music, golf, target shooting, reading, wineries, ISU football and basketball and travel. We are very much looking forward to retirement (although NOT towards getting older, mind you!) and chronicling our adventures to that destination is one of the topics I hope to cover as I venture into this first jab at blogging.
So. Bear with me as a give this a go. Full steam ahead!
