Bio
Spring, Washington Square, Greenwich Village NYC 1955 was a fantastic time.
Being a young boy full of adventure, filled with excitement & wonder; in many ways this moment held true. "The City".. yes, even the trees were magical with ruffling sounds of leaves fluttering in the warm breeze. For a kid's imagination this location was special. Little did I realize, checking out paintings would bring me far into a social connection with meaning decades later.
Artist the local art vendors on every corner. The gentle sounds of a non-hurried weekend activity added to a boy's imagination. And even now more then 65 years later, I almost sense the moment of old buses & cars and street sweepers and that long missed lifestyle. NY society a beautiful work of art also.
Mother and I walked about Greenwich Village community taking in the sights. We checked Cool American abstract paintings among others. Afterwards lunch on Fifth Avenue Live Classic Jazz Music.
These are truly great memories of a special time and place, humble beginnings for my art collecting.
