Bio
Hailing from a body of esteemed graduates the University of Virginia recently sent forth to conquer the world, I postponed my dreams of pursuing a glamorous career in New York City to remain in the majestic foothills of Charlottesville, teaching preschool and nannying for a truly idyllic family, one which I came to know as my own after almost four years tending to the children and sharing my time with the parents. Tragically, the family perished in a private plane crash only days before celebrating Christmas in 2011, I was in Charlottesville, having just said my holiday farewells when I saw the footage on the evening news. While the majority of my fellow graduates continued to feed off of the fast-paced lifestyle in the big city, my shock ebbed into grief and I trekked the lonely journey home to Southwestern Virginia, seeking solace in the very house of my childhood upbringing. At no point in my life did I ever expect to be back home, and yet, here I am, spending my days working as the charming young receptionist in one of the city’s most prestigious downtown offices, answering phones, greeting clients, continuing my never ending search for success that I feel to be the driving force behind the inspired individuals defining my generation.
