Bio
My husband is the scout in our family, he is the one who led us back to Almaty, Kazakhstan. He had arrived from Wash. D.C. area in 1992 with Dept. of Agriculture, I followed in May of 1993 to be a trainer for TEFL Peace Corps volunteers. We met for the first time in church on May 2, 1993, thanks to the help our of matchmaker friends.
My husband and I are the nomads again now. He went back to Almaty end of August at the start of school and emailed to me blow-by-blow accounts of what he was experiencing in Kazakhstan. Not an easy place to live especially after having lived in Kyiv, Ukraine for 6-7 years of the last ten. Many similarities, of course, but many differences and that is what my Kazakh Nomad reported on. With the 11-12 hour time difference I relied on his e-mail reports to keep me updated though we had been able to communicate through Skype sometimes.
Now that I arrived to Almaty on October 12, 2007 to join him, I can see for myself all the changes that have occurred in the town of our courtship 15 years ago.
