Bio
Ken Hickson is the Editor and Publisher of three newsletters, ABC Carbon Express, Building Energy Efficiency Performance (BEEP) and "the avenue for creative arts". He is Chairman/CEO of Sustain Ability Showcase Asia (SASA), Chairman of the International Green Purchasing Network (IGPN) Singapore and director of numerous companies. He is author of six books, including The ABC of Carbon, Race for Sustainability, Forty and Mr SIA: Fly Past. With 53 years experience in the communications industry, he started out as a journalist in New Zealand, where he worked in newspapers, television, radio and magazines. In the mid-1980s he founded what became one of Singapore's leading communications consultancies, which was acquired by Fleishman Hillard and he is a former President of the Institute of Public Relations Singapore (IPRS). He is regarded as one of Asia Pacific's leading international communication specialists and his clients have included Singapore Airlines, BMW, DHL, Intel, Hitachi, Canon, Lend Lease, Sime Darby, Dairy Far, Jardine Matheson, Lockheed Martin, Bayer, DuPont and Braun. Besides his sustainability work, focussing on clean energy, waste management and energy efficiency programmes, he is an active supporter and promoter of the arts.
