Bio
I am a pianist, accompanist & teacher with 25 years of experience based in the Cy-Fair area. I have worked as an accompanist/pianist with Houston Grand Opera, Houston Ballet, Orchestra X, HITS theater school, University of Houston, Lone Star College, Lee College and others. In 2015 I was music director/keyboardist for the Lone Star College North Harris Theater's production of Godspell. Between my work as a professional musician and my teaching, I have learned the dynamics of learning and student/teacher relationships, and how to adapt what I aim to teach to each student's set of strengths and weakness in ways that are never off-putting, are more and more rewarding, and most often fun. Music is not easy. It is as rich and complex as a language, with much more physical skill required. But music is all around us because it is humanly rewarding. I believe learning music is at its best when student and teacher together are tapping into that human reward.
