Bio
Hi
I am a production engineer, that bloke that decides how something is made or put together. I started out in 1979 with a mechanical apprenticeship at Kent Meters on a weekly wage of £19.25! It was a 4 year apprenticeship, going to the Luton Tech College one day per week. I had a great opportunity when I joined Hayward Tyler to be a production engineer on a new oil pump line and worked my way through deputy manager to operations manager and a brief spell as a director general manager and earned a really good wage around £50,000 a year. When I am asked how important was school, I believe that gaining a solid understanding of how to apply maths, technical writing and how things work really put me ahead. When asked what is important at work, that's easy, people. Treat others as you would want to be treated. Easy really.
