Bio
My name is Kirsten and I decided to start this blog as a means of communication among family and friends during this rather adventurous phase of my life: Where everyone can come to check in on me. A place where I can share regular updates of my travels, inspirations of the moment, perhaps a laugh or two, and lots of love. I should start by explaining I was not always so brave. My whole life I felt timid, and tremendously reliant upon others to make decisions on my behalf. I was a bit of a late bloomer, in most ways. Suppressed by the fear of limitations I created in my mind, I willingly let others overshadow me, preferring to sit in the backseat of my own life. I wasn’t quite sure who I was, or who I ought to be, but something deep inside told me one day I would know. I’ve always been in awe of people who take charge of their lives, and live for the moment. For the first time in my life I decided to follow the direction I heard my name being called. I waited for others to come with me, but came to the realization that this journey had to be one in which I embarked upon alone. I’ve always been drawn to, even fascinated, by foreign lands, cultures, and people. I believe growth in any form – psychological, spiritual, and emotional—can occur only when you are out of your element, and out of your comfort zone. Any situation that forces you to look inward, and challenge your beliefs, is in my opinion, an opportunity to better yourself. And I think that’s the greatest gift of all. I’ve long considered myself a student of the human experience, and I seek to better understand the human condition; what is the human spirit. I aim to lead by example and inspire positive change—If the girl who is sometimes afraid of her own shadow can move across the world all by herself, to a very unfamiliar place, you can, too. In fact, you can do anything!
Lots of love,
Kirsten
