Bio
I am Australian living in Santa Cruz, Bolivia where I weave, write, and study indigenous weaving techniques. I have been learning and documenting traditional weaving techniques of Latin American countries with indigenous weavers since 1996. Although I have studied various types of simple looms, my loom of choice is the backstrap loom. I moderate the Backstrap Weaving Group at Ravelry.com. In 2010 I published a book in which I teach ANDEAN PEBBLE WEAVE, one of the many pick-up patterning structures that I have studied. This and the follow-up book, MORE ADVENTURES WITH WARP-FACED PICK-UP PATTERNS, published in 2012, are available from taprootvideo.com. Since then, I've published six more books. I blog about my backstrap weaving projects and travels at http://backstrapweaving.wordpress.com/.
