Bio
Ross LeClaire DVM, Ph.D., MSS, is currently the Managing Member, The Translational Bridge; LLC focused on defining translational research models reasonably likely to emulate human clinical benefit. Between Jun 2007 and Nov 2014 he served as President, Lovelace Biomedical and Environmental Research Institute responsible for Federal program development. He also directed the Comparative Medicine, Pathology, Veterinary Research Resources, Biosafety/Security/Surety and Environmental, Safety, and Health groups. From Aug 2004 until Jun 2007 Dr. LeClaire was employed by Battelle Memorial Institute, National Security Division as a Product Line Manager and Director, Battelle Biomedical Research Center. Dr. LeClaire served 26 years in the U.S. Army, most recently (Jul 2002 to Jun 2004) as Commander, U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine-Pacific. From May 1997 to Jun 2002 he served as Chief, Toxicology and Aerobiology Division, USAMRIID, Fort Detrick, MD. He also provided oversight of the Biological Defense Research Program at three additional DOD Research Centers.
Dr. LeClaire is a Fellow with the Academy of Toxicological Sciences and a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology. He obtained his DVM degree from the University of Minnesota in 1982, his PhD in toxicology from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1991 and a Masters in Strategic Sciences from the U.S. Army War College in 2001. His research background, to include medical advisory board appointment, involves the pharmaceutical industry, and support of government research programs for the DHHS, DOS, DOD, DHS, CDC, EPA, and NATO.
