Bio
My role as the Chairman and Project Manager for the Leeds Children's Charity has to be the most challenging yet rewarding job that I have ever undertaken. Challenging because of the very difficult times that we now find ourselves in as far as fund raising and finance is concerned, yet extremely rewarding due to the ability to help our young beneficiaries to enjoy a different way of life albeit for a short space of time.
I have always considered myself to be very fortunate in that I was given a happy childhood, free education (both academic and of life) by enthusiastic and encouraging teachers, as well as the opportunity to travel extensively to some of the most beautiful countries in the world and to meet some wonderful people along the way. My wish is that everyone could enjoy such privileges.
However, this is not the case for many of the young children and families that we work with through the charity. Some of them rarely leave the street on which they live except to go to school and have never seen the countryside or enjoyed looking at the sea.
My aim is to help vulnerable children and families by raising awareness of their situation through the work of this charity, and to help young children in need to experience some simple pleasures outside of their dysfunctional backgrounds.
The Leeds Children's Charity has a very simple purpose but one that has a huge impact on vulnerable young people in need of care and attention.
