Bio
The inspiration for this blog came from my interests in gardening, cooking and baking in my kitchen, and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). Nature’s entire food production process from seed to harvest fascinates me and I love enjoying the flavors of the season. I had the opportunity to apprentice on a small natural farm, Spanish Spring Greens, and the experience made me look at current agricultural practices, specifically the large corporate kind, in a completely different way. The same questions always seems to linger in the back of my mind; why are we so far removed from this intimate and habitual part of our daily lives and why are we growing grass instead of food in our yards like families were doing just a few decades ago? Ultimately, I want to galvanize people to ask questions and think for themselves and I want to encourage people to feel empowered to take back their food system, one plate at a time. With a deep interest and appreciation of where food comes from it should come as no surprise that I come from long lines of European farmers on both sides of my family.
