Bio
Born in Paris, France, from Canadian parents on January 5, 1957. Three months later, my family moved back to Canada permanently.
On June 4, 1974, the 220-pound athletic teenager I had grown into, with a passion for sports, suffered a neck injury in a diving accident, which resulted in partial quadriplegia (near complete paralysis). Suddenly, everything that had motivated me to live until then, and whatever future I had imagined for myself became impossible, and my life appeared absurd.
“Why live?” This existential question has been the centrepiece of my reflections for the last 40 years, and my insightful and educated answer to this question has been my greatest achievement, most notably in the form of one autobiographical and philosophical book entitled A REASON FOR LIVING (NardisPress, 2004).
You should know that this book has been out-of-print for a couple of years, and that used copies are still cheaply available for purchase at Amazon.com. The fact remains that here I make it freely available to anyone who cares to read it (see my "About" page - bottom PDF link).
