Bio
I'm obsessed with words. I live and breathe words, so much that I scarcely notice that that's what I do. If you ask me what I'm interested in, I would say: books, politics, dogs, people, social justice, language, knitting, friendships. But not travel, so much as seeing other countries and meeting new people. Only just now I realised that words are my love - as a fish never questions the water, as humans never question the air: in the same way I take words for granted. They fascinate me, with their connections and etymologies, with their capacities for puns, with their clouded and inaccurate translations into other languages. Their richness and multiplicity of meanings.
Some years ago I realised that, just as dyslexics have 'wordblindness', I have a kind of word obsession. They don't see words, but I can't stop myself from reading everything I see. I don't do it, it just happens to me. Words are hyper-present in my life.
