Bio
Grammy Nominee, Singer-Songwriter Linda Chorney is a Producer, Award Winning Filmmaker, Author, Humanitarian, Public Speaker, Blogger, and self-proclaimed Jackass of all Trades. She was born before the war, started singing as a fetus, received a standing ovation in the delivery room and has been singing ever since.
Linda's life story, "When I Sing", debuted in Hollywood, (HRFF) and won the People's Choice Award for Best Feature Film, in February 2018, written, produced and starring Linda. The story is based on her book, "Who the F**K is Linda Chorney", written in 2013, after her historical Grammy nomination, and unforeseen crazy ride, on her long bumpy road. The film continues to garner awards and stellar reviews.
In 2015, Chorney released her first fully self-produced award winning documentary, "The Opening Act", which takes you along in the passenger seat, to answer the question, "Does it pay to play?"
In 2012, at the 54th Grammy Awards, Linda became the first independent, self-produced artist, without a label, publicist or manager to be nominated for a Grammy for Best American Album for her 6th album, Emotional Jukebox.
Chorney has performed on all 7 continents, having released 7 albums, 3 cassettes, 1 book, 1 doc, and 1 feature film...all about herself. Sounds pretty self-absorbed, wouldn’t you say? All in the ridiculous quest for validation.
Other highlights in her career have been breaking the Top 40 Adult Contemporary Charts, and singing for Nelson Mandela, in front of a crowd of 250,000 humans. And of course playing in Sports bars where no one is listening.
Life lesson about the biz?
"People have important things to do, and you're not one of them, so get over it." Linda Chorney
