Bio
After a few years of school students are usually pretty stellar at two things: research and procrastination. For us, both of these things usually include surfing the web. We get that most students have at least a minor interest in the news and current affairs, but it's often tough to get exactly what 'traditional' news outlets are getting at when they talk about recent events, be they economic, political, or otherwise important. At NewsChecker, we pledge to use our internet research skills (honed by hours of essay writing and mindless web cruising) to help translate the news to layman's terms. In other words, we want to provide a crash course in news in our favourite type of exam format -- short answer. Our mission is to provide a clear, simple, concise record of the most important, and best covered, issues of the week. Naturally, we do not have all day to fact check and elaborate, so if you disagree with our spin or want to contest a fact, we invite you, the reader, to call us out. But this is a two way street. We promise not to bore you with 2,000 words of unjustified opinion if you do the same. At NewsChecker, we keep it SIC -- simple, informed, concise.
