Bio
With a BA from Vassar and an MA from the U of Washington, both in English, Louisa has taught composition, literature, and writing pedagogy at the University of Washington, Evergreen State College, and several community colleges. She published twelve short stories, written primarily during her 30s, in journals such as Northwest Review, Bellingham Review, and Calyx – one of which was awarded the Katherine Anne Porter Prize for fiction.
A mountaineer with many peaks over 10,000' bagged, she has 27 years clean and sober, following a lengthy battle with active alcoholism as described in her addiction memoir (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0093NPHYO) and continues to practice active programs in AA and Al-Anon.
